reflejos de terraza
poetry - by Brian Clark
i drank some beer, a pilsner
i drank some tea, a darjeeling/cacao concoction
i smoked a cigar that was made in Nicaragua
i listened to the cool rain fall on the street and rooftop
eyeing the silhouetted conifers
the misty hills looming
knowing the snowy mountain lay beyond, shrouded
i felt a lightness/effervescence travel cephalad
from my skull base to forehead
classical music resting under my chair
protected from the rain
all the while, letting my mind wander
between and among my pressured thoughts
i enjoyed the stillness
took comfort in the dampness
not caring as the rain wet my feet
