Company News

In an electrifying evening at the Demolicious startup pitch competition, ecobadlandz, spearheaded by co-founders Brian Clark and Brian Boshes (affectionately known as the Brians), emerged victorious with their innovative software product, Ranger. The pitch competition, known for showcasing local Portland entrepreneurs and startups, was the perfect venue for the Brians to introduce their solution to a common problem faced by electric vehicle (EV) travelers.

Frustrated with their EV charging experience while on travel adventures in Oregon, the duo was inspired to create a platform that would address their “charging anxiety.” Ranger, as presented by co-founder and CEO Brian Clark, is an energy sharing and payments platform designed for the renewable energy economy, enabling small businesses and private property owners to safely share energy with EV guests.

The concept behind Ranger addresses a critical need in the rapidly growing EV market, providing a seamless and secure way for energy transactions to occur between hosts and EV guests. This innovative approach not only facilitates easier access to charging options for EV travelers but also encourages small businesses to install EV chargers and start making money as energy sellers.

With this win under their belt, the Brians are building momentum for their mission to electrify travel adventures in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. They will defend their title at next month’s Demolicious event on April 24, 5pm at the Upstart Collective’s west side location.

Demolicious is organized by the Upstart Collective, a local founders collaborative workspace and community. You can learn more about the history of the Demolicious pitch competition from Portland startup ecosystem fixture, Rick Turoczy, here.
